The City Of New Iberia's Houseing Choise Voucher Program (HCVP) offers expanded opportunities for rental assistance to very-low and extremely-low income families by utilizing existing housing units. This program seeks to avoid a concentration of assisted housing in one area of the city by offering these families "freedom of choice".
Bryan Gautreaux, Director of Community Development, and his staff assist lower income families, as well as the elderly, disabled and handicapped to secure affordable, decent, safe and sanitary housing.
