The Municipal Civil Service Department handles the distribution and acceptance of applications for classified municipal positions with the City of New Iberia. From time to time, the Municipal Civil Service Department establishes employment lists for particular classified municipal positions by administering civil service exams. Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible as an applicant for employment to a classified position under the Municipal Civil Service:
1) one must be at least 18 years of age,
2) have United States citizenship,
3) be a qualified registered voter of the parish/county where the applicant resides, and one must also meet the minimum requirements for the position(s) applying.
