Traffic Signs & Signals The New Iberia Public Works Department is responsible for installing, programming, maintaining, and repairing all traffic signals and signs along city streets. The department also installs and maintains all traffic signs and street names to make travel easy for residents and visitors. Additionally, the department marks lanes, crosswalks, and traffic patterns on the road surface. The department regularly checks traffic signs and signals to insure that they are visible and operational. They also keep pavement markings clear and identifiable at all times. Citizens are reminded that it is illegal to remove, obstruct, or deface a traffic device, and violators will be prosecuted for such acts. |
