Swimming Programs & Lessons 

The New Iberia Recreation Department offers swimming programs and lessons during summer months at the swimming pool facilities located at 300 Parkview Drive and 1200 Field Street. Lessons are open to citizens of all ages and skill levels, and are taught by qualified swimming instructors.

General swimming lessons are available beginning at the end of May in levels 1 through 6. The cost of these lessons varies. Levels 1 and 2 focus on overcoming water phobia, floating, and the basics of freestyle and backstroke, while more advanced classes focus on more advanced strokes, diving, and turning.

Other programs available include guard start, senior water aerobics, water aerobics, competitive swimming and lap swim. Adult swimming lessons are also available in June and July.
