

For Artists
The City of New Iberia Teche Plein Air Painting Competition takes place in early March. Throughout competition week, artists are allowed to paint throughout seven parishes in the Acadiana region that includes a variety of viewscapes from bayous and cane fields, to live oaks and azaleas, to boats and historic houses. Each night, we try to provide a space for artists to gather, enjoy a good meal, and unwind from a day of painting.

Schedule for Artists

March 7: Quick Draw at 4 p.m. in downtown New Iberia

March 8: Paint Loreauville 8 a.m.

March 9: Free paint day (artists will paint wherever they prefer)

March 10: Painting Demo with Judge Charlie Hunter at 1:30p.m. at Academy of the Sacred Heart (1821 Academy Rd, Grand Coteau)

March 11: OPEN

March 12: Painting Demo with Judge Charlie Hunter at 2 p.m. at the Shadows on the Teche (320 E Main St, New Iberia)

March 13: Paint Out from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in downtown New Iberia; Awards Ceremony & Fine Art Sale at 6:30 p.m. at Sliman Theater (129 E. Main Street)

March 14: Paintings up for view at the Sliman Theater until 1 p.m.
