The City of New Iberia Wastewater Department serves the sanitary sewage collection, transfer and treatment needs of over 33,000 City users and 1,500 Parish users.

The City's Sanitary Wastewater Sewerage System consists of two wastewater treatment facilities, 120 miles of sewer line, 2,200 manholes and 75 pump stations.

The newly constructed Sucrose Drive Treatment Plant was commissioned in early 2007. This plant is designed to treat a daily average flow of 6 million gallons per day (MGD).  The treatment facility is known as the Parker Street Plant (aka Tete Bayou Plant) is owned jointly with the Iberia Parish Sewerage District No. 1 and is designed to treat a daily average flow of 2.5 MGD. 

To service, the municipal sanitary sewerage system Wastewater Department personnel are working 24 hours a day.  If you are having a sewer emergency, including an overflow event, please contact our Department at the following numbers:
