The Finance Department oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the City to ensure that all levels of fiscal responsibility are of the highest quality, the highest ethical standards, financially prudent, responsive to the needs of the citizens of New Iberia, and consistent with the laws and ordinances governing municipal government.
The Finance Department manages and invests public funds in accordance with the City Charter and with policies set by the Board of Trustees. Responsibilities include the City’s budget, cash flow and debt management, preparing official financial records and reports, and collecting revenues and other fees. The Finance Department also provides other general accounting functions to include accounts payable, payroll, grants monitoring, and audit assistance.
